President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies to ensure that the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, is conducted peacefully, transparently and credibly.
In a statement issued by the Presidency on Friday, August 14, President Tinubu described the Osun election as an important test of Nigeria’s electoral preparedness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The President urged all institutions involved in the election to uphold neutrality, professionalism and the integrity of the electoral process.
