Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has formally presented the official results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Ogun East Senatorial District to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The governor disclosed this in a statement shared on Tuesday following his visit to the Presidential Villa, where he submitted the outcome of the party’s primary election to the President. Abiodun expressed appreciation for the smooth conduct of the exercise and acknowledged the support of party stakeholders throughout the process.

According to the governor, the successful primary election demonstrated the unity and democratic values within the ruling APC.

“The successful conduct of the primary election once again reflects the unity, strength, and democratic spirit of our party,” Abiodun stated.

He also commended President Tinubu for promoting inclusive democratic policies within the party, particularly through the adoption of direct primaries, which he said allowed every APC member to participate actively in the electoral process.

Abiodun noted that the direct primary system has given party members “a sense of belonging and ownership of the party,” while strengthening internal democracy within the APC.

The governor further extended gratitude to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters across Ogun East for their confidence and continued support. He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining development across Ogun State and ensuring inclusive governance.

“As I continue on this journey of service to our people, I remain committed to supporting the continued developmental strides across Ogun State while ensuring peace, progress, inclusiveness, and greater opportunities for all,” he said.

Abiodun also appreciated the leadership and solidarity of APC members, emphasizing their collective role in advancing a shared vision for the growth and development of Ogun State.
