Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a resounding second-term victory in the Ekiti State Governorship Election, recording one of the most dominant electoral performances in the state’s democratic history.
According to officially declared results, Oyebanji won all sixteen Local Government Areas of Ekiti State, becoming the first incumbent governor in the state’s 26-year democratic journey to achieve a complete statewide sweep.
THE NUMBERS
The APC candidate polled approximately 319,224 votes, representing about 85 percent of valid votes cast.
His closest challenger, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secured about 40,543 votes, while Ambassador Dare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) received approximately 12,872 votes.
A total of 988,251 voters were registered for the election, with more than 384,000 voters accredited across 2,445 polling units.

The Ekiti election was expected to be competitive, particularly with opposition parties projecting confidence and promising a strong challenge to the incumbent administration.
