The report came after weeks of dispute. The incumbent House of Representatives member for the constituency, Hon. Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, had challenged the validity of the May 16 primary election in which Oshinowo was declared the winner.
However, on the same day — June 28–29, 2026 the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, issued an official public notice stating clearly that the party had not released any official list of primary election winners, and that any publication claiming otherwise was false and unauthorised.
