“The official processes have been duly followed, and we now move forward together with renewed confidence, unity, and determination. Kosofe, thank you for your trust. You have your candidate.”
OgasTv notes this is Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s personal public statement. It confirms he submitted forms, but INEC’s portal acceptance remains subject to the national access code process currently ongoing.

Throughout this entire day — as KosofePost published, as Oshinowo’s supporters celebrated, as OgasTv fact-checked — Hon. Kafilat Ogbara’s team said nothing publicly.
Silence can mean many things. It could mean the dispute is quietly resolved. It could mean a legal challenge is being prepared. It could mean they are waiting to see what INEC’s portal shows after July 11.
OgasTv contacted Ogbara’s camp for comment. No response was received at time of publication. We will publish any response we receive and update this article accordingly.
Where We Stand — June 29, 2026
Mayor Oshinowo is the APC candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency — he has confirmed this himself in a signed public statement. The nomination process with APC NWC appears complete. What remains unconfirmed is whether the INEC portal upload was completed on June 29 specifically, given the national access code dispute. OgasTv will confirm this after July 11.
July 11 — INEC portal closes. All submitted names on record. OgasTv will check Kosofe at that point.
September 12 — INEC authenticates all submitted names. The real final date. Arise News Director Sumner Sambo warned that some candidates submitted now are placeholders — parties may withdraw names before September 12 based on political calculations. Oshinowo’s candidacy is only fully final on that date.
This morning we said Under Review because the APC disclaimer seemed to contradict KosofePost’s report.
Vanguard showed most parties had no access codes.
This evening we return to Partially Verified because the candidate himself confirmed the nomination process in his own words. That is the strongest evidence available today.
OgasTv updated its article today as new evidence emerged. We disclosed when sources had political relationships to the subject. And we are now the only outlet covering this story that has flagged September 12 as the real authentication date. That is the standard we hold and the same standard we apply to every leader we cover.
July 11 Is Not the Finish Line. September 12 Is.
Most media are reporting the July 11 portal deadline as the end of the candidate story. It is not.
Arise News Director Sumner Sambo stated on June 29 that September 12, 2026 is when INEC will determine the authenticity of all names submitted by political parties. Some candidates submitted today are placeholders. Before September 12, parties may withdraw candidates voluntarily or by force based on internal deals, court rulings, or political alliances.
For Kosofe specifically this matters because the Ogbara dispute is legally unresolved, and internal APC calculations could still shift. Mayor Oshinowo’s submission today is strong evidence but September 12 is when his candidacy becomes truly final.

- Watch September 12 that is when INEC authenticates all submitted names. Any candidate can still change before that date.
- Ask what Oshinowo, Ogbara, and every other candidate plans to deliver for Kosofe and beyond specifically before you to continue giving your support.
- Do not share election information as confirmed until INEC’s official portal shows it.
- Confirm your PVC is valid at your nearest INEC office. Your vote decides 2027.
