The University of Lagos (UNILAG) today played host to the Youth and Governance Symposium 2.0 – NYCN Lagos Assembly Edition, a strategic gathering that brought together youth leaders, students, public officials, civic actors, and key stakeholders to discuss youth participation in governance, leadership responsibility, civic engagement, and the future development of Lagos State.
The symposium served as a vibrant platform for meaningful dialogue between young people and policymakers, reinforcing the importance of youth inclusion in governance and decision-making processes.
OgasTV Nigeria commends the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, under the leadership of Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, for organizing an impactful event that empowers young people to move beyond being mere observers to becoming active contributors to public discourse and societal development.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to His Excellency, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos State, for his insightful, intelligent, and practical engagement with Lagos youths. His responses to critical questions reflected deep administrative experience, calm leadership, and a clear understanding of the concerns and aspirations of young people regarding governance, opportunities, and inclusion.
The symposium further highlighted the growing importance of creating sustainable platforms where government and youth can engage constructively, exchange ideas, and work collaboratively towards building a more inclusive and prosperous Lagos.
